My mind was spinning with everything I would need to do in the next few days as we prepared for a trip back to the States. I wanted to get a workout in but my toddler needed outside time or he was going to start losing it.

Eli’s First Camping Trip (14-month-old & 18 weeks pregnant)
Eli’s first real camping trip is in the books. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t as glamorous as it might look, it was quick, thrown together, and there were some rough patches. But we overcame the hurdles and headed to the only car camping spot we know of nearby.
Balcony Camping and Family Hike (14-month-old & 17 weeks pregnant)
Our son was 14 months and we hadn’t camped yet. Our intention was to go sooner but with constant monsoon rains and threats of landslides, there is no way we could have pulled it off before we did. We wanted to ease into it so we decided to camp on our balcony one Friday evening at the beginning of October.

I didn’t think we would take a village trip for a while since Eli was only 9 months old but it just happened. One day my husband proposed the idea and the next morning we were off–packed with diapers, a hiking backpack full of our most minimal items for an outdoor adventure, a baby carrier backpack, and some car snacks.

Shepherd’s Shelter Hiking & Camping Trip . 25 Weeks Pregnant
Our car camping trip with 5 other people, took an athletic turn and quickly evolved into a hiking & camping adventure with a friend of ours. We built a fire in a shepherds shelter and watched herds of sheep roam the hills.

By the end of the week, we knew we needed a few hours in the forest. Our weekend was also packed so we snuck away for a few hours, rode the motorcycle to a nearby hammocking spot, climbed a hill with an auntie and her cows, and put up our hammocks.
