I wanted a quick-ish and easy way to look back on the first year of my son’s life and share a few highlights of each month with you. I will be using many questions out of the Promptly Journal.

Where you are in the world:

Currently in MO near my family where the summer is hot and the downtown skyline is my favorite.

Your baby enjoys it when:

  • he lays on daddy’s chest
  • when daddy plays the guitar
  • he is bounced up and down
  • he sleeps next to mommy

How is he sleeping?

  • The first week was really rough. It was difficult to keep him awake for full feedings at night. After about two weeks, he did much better. He nurses about every 3 hours at night and pretty much goes right back to sleep afterwards.

How is bath time?

First Bath
  • his first official bath was three days before you turned 1 month old due to the umbilical chord healing
  • he was a little unsure at first but quickly displayed a comfortable and calm demeanor
  • he loves it

Describe your baby’s temperament & disposition:

Twenty four hours after he was born, we had a postpartum nurse come to our house for a home visit. Even mentioned how calm and easy going he was. He didn’t cry for the temperature check, heal prick, or any other test that was given that day. Other people have made comments about his chill go-with-the-flow demeanor. We agree that he is extremely laid back and sweet natured.

What is your baby’s hair like now?

All the hair! We get lots of comments about his hair and how much he has. It’s brown and he has a lot of it.

Thoughts/Feelings/ Special moments:

  • met both sets of grandparents
  • met one set of your great grandparents when you were 6 days old and their were tears of joy from many of us
  • met your cousins and many of your aunts and uncles
  • celebrated daddy’s birthday
  • took a plethora of naps in the arms of family
  • began taking baths
  • you were the star of a newborn photo shoot

Out and About

•went thrifting with mom & Grammy

•went up in the WW2 memorial tower in KC with us and Nana & Papa

•you went to the MO state fair
