The strict lockdown ended in our country and we were able to go out more freely which was honestly wonderful. I purchased cherries with a box labeled Butt Trading Company which provided a much needed smile. I snapped a photo of a hummingbird on the balcony. I also loved helping host a baby shower for a dear friend filled with delicious food, games, and prayers for the baby.Â
Verse of the Month
I was struggling with comparison this month and found this article addressing the topic. It was sooo helpful! Here are some of the verses I found really helpful that the article mentions.
1 Cor 15:10 “But by the grace of God I am what I am…”
Psalm 139:13-14 “…I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made…” (God gave me a capacity and limitations)
Heb 13:20-21 God will “equip you with everything good to do his will…”
Adventure of the Month
Day hike in the rain and picnic.
hammock sabbath with goats
Favorite Foods or Recipes
spiced cherry plum syrup with pancakes
It was so delicious! The recipe is originally for plum syrup but since I had cherries I added those in and it turned out wonderful.
Books I Read or Listened to
Get Out of Your Head– by Jennie Allen
A dear friend and I decided to read this book and talk about it every few weeks in order to debrief it and process what we learned. We both agreed that it was a helpful book with great reminders of how to re-train your mind and align it with Biblical truth instead of believing the lies that pop into our heads, often without us even realizing it.
“What we believe and what we think about matters, and the enemy knows it. And he is determined to get in your head to distract you from doing good and to sink you so deep that you feel helpless, overwhelmed, shut down, and incapable of rising to make a difference for the kingdom of God.”
-Jennie Allen
Creative Outlet
taught my friend how to cross stitch
helped host a baby shower for a friend
Since it is illegal to find out the gender, I decided to make it a blue and pink themed shower. We found out later that the baby was a girl 🙂
