December 2019
2 days. 1 night
Total Elevation Gain: 1,254 feet
Total milage: 5.3 miles
Where we started: ten minute drive from our home
Why: sabbath rest in the outdoors
Animals spotted: goats, sheep, donkeys, monkeys, cows & a mysterious bird that sounded like it was screaming.
People we met:
- man who’s house we parked next to
- old man walking to his home in the village who gave us directions
- slate workers
- men digging hole for a toilet to be built near the camping area
- guys who helped us start our car

Get stung by Stinging Nettle plant in my forehead

Ask another uncle for directions. He was so kind.

Make it to the top and set up camp.
Find abandoned house with 50 monkeys in and around it. they left at dusk –praises!

make dinner: instant noodles and bf

make smore’s with pink marshmallows

survive the night (okay– I’ll admit. we were a little cold)

enjoy the morning

hot coco + cinnamon oatmeal kind of morning

river crossing

head down the mountain.
pass another hardcore local carrying a bajillion pound bundle all the way down

make it down but car doesn’t start.
wait for 2 hours. eat pb and crackers and linen to an audiobook until help comes. Praise be– I think we are learning cause we weren’t even surprised or irritated.
